CES Selects ASUS WL-700gE Wireless Storage Router as Design and Engineering Award Honoree Multifunctional Digital Media Library for Digital Home Wins “Home Networking” Category

Versatility in Downloading
The WL-700gE, with a built in 160GB hard drive, comes with
smart features for downloading files, and supports the latest
BitTorrent protocol. Download Master, an exclusive technology
found in ASUS wireless solutions, enables peer-to-peer
downloads and download queue prioritization from remote
locations over the Internet. The WL-700gE further executes
downloaded applications without connection to the system,
leaving more resources for other computing functions and
maintaining the mobility of notebook PCs.
Share Music Wirelessly
The WL-700gE caters to music entertainment demand as well. It allows users to download, organize and locate their favorite songs in seconds. It also serves music and video downloaded from the Internet to DLNA-certified digital media players.
Plug-n-Share
Connect webcams, printers (both Windows and MAC network printing functions) and external hard drives to the WL-700gE via USB 2.0, and share the functions with other devices in the WLAN. Roam around with a laptop and maintain the ability to monitor different home areas, print documents and access information in the hard drive.
Storage Sharing
The WL-700gE offers a simple solution to adding NAS (network attached storage) features and connecting to the home network via the Internet. In five easy steps, both router and wireless NAS functions are ready to go. In addition, users can store and access files saved in the WL-700gE though Internet browsers, CIFS and NTFS servers, and http and ftp protocols.
Anti-Virus and Data Protection
Unlike other home NAS that leaves data open to virus attacks, the WL-700gE adopts NAS that includes NAT and SPI Firewall functions to filter Internet packets for secured data protection.
